Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 11, 2025
Our Commitment
STEP Edges is committed to digital accessibility and inclusive learning. Our goal is to achieve and maintain conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our websites, LMS, and related services. We are progressively adopting WCAG 2.2 criteria where relevant.
Scope
This statement covers public websites, authenticated learning experiences (LMS), and user dashboards operated by STEP Edges. Third‑party platforms, embedded tools, and externally hosted resources are governed by their own policies; however, we strive to procure and configure accessible solutions wherever feasible.
Accessibility Features
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and media; captions/transcripts for prerecorded content.
- Keyboard operability, visible focus indicators, logical tab order, and skip navigation links.
- Adequate color contrast and support for text resizing without loss of content or functionality.
- Clear labels, instructions, and error messages for forms; ARIA used judiciously to enhance semantics.
- Responsive layouts that support zoom, reflow, and various device orientations.
Compatibility and Assistive Technologies
We aim to support current versions of major browsers (Chromium-based, Firefox, Safari) and assistive technologies such as screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), screen magnifiers, and speech recognition tools. Some combinations of legacy browsers and assistive tech may exhibit reduced interoperability.
Testing and Monitoring
- Automated scans for WCAG failures during development and before releases.
- Manual keyboard-only reviews and screen reader spot checks on critical user flows.
- Design system tokens and components with accessibility-first patterns and linting.
- Issue tracking with prioritization for blockers and user-reported barriers.
Known Limitations
While striving for AA conformance, some content may not yet fully meet criteria, such as occasional caption gaps on older videos, inconsistent alt text on legacy images, or contrast deviations in archived pages. We are actively remediating these items and welcome reports to help prioritize fixes.
Feedback and Assistance

Accommodations and Alternatives
Upon request, we can provide reasonable accommodations or alternative formats for course materials and assessments where feasible. For time-sensitive needs, indicate deadlines so we can prioritize appropriately.
Third‑Party Content and Tools
Some experiences may integrate third‑party content or tools (e.g., embedded videos, analytics, proctoring, or payment widgets). Where we do not control these systems, issues may arise. We evaluate partners for accessibility and file issues or provide alternatives when gaps are discovered.
Standards and Legal Framework
Our accessibility program is guided by WCAG 2.1 Level AA and references applicable global accessibility regimes. Where local regulations impose stricter requirements, we will endeavor to align our practices accordingly.
Roadmap and Continuous Improvement
- Audit high‑traffic and assessment journeys quarterly; remediate critical issues within defined SLAs.
- Caption/transcript coverage: target 100% for new media; actively backfill legacy content.
- Design system: expand accessible components and patterns; strengthen documentation and lint rules.
- Training: ongoing developer, QA, and content author training on accessible practices.
Escalation
If a reported barrier is not resolved to satisfaction, requests may be escalated to our compliance lead via info@stepedges.example with the subject “Escalation.” Include steps to reproduce, assistive technology used, and any screenshots or short screen recordings.
Updates to This Statement
We will update this page as standards evolve and improvements are released. The “Last updated” date reflects the current version. Continued use of our Services following updates indicates awareness of these changes.
